Theresa Bonopartis - Bio
In June 2002, Theresa was the recipient of the 2nd Annual John Cardinal O’Connor Award for her work with those who are post abortive

Theresa has been involved in post abortion work for over fifteen years. She currently directs Lumina, a post abortion referral service under the arm of Good Counsel Homes which were founded by Christopher Bell and Rev. Benedict Groeschel, CFR. http://www.goodcounselhomes.org/

Lumina refers those suffering from a past abortion to the help they need in order to heal. In addition to referrals, Theresa, along with Father Mariusz Koch, CFR conducts training seminars in post abortion for clergy in the tri state area. She also does public speaking, seminars and outreach in order to increase awareness of post abortion trauma.

Theresa public speaking engagements include, Columbia University, Williams College, Manhattan College, Mt Sinai Medical School, the Woonsocket Rhode Island Rosary Congress, The Respect Life Institute of NY, and the National Right to Life Convention to name a few. She also has been a guest on Rhode Island’s Catholic Cable Program, Radio Maria, Voices of Abortion and other radio programs. Her articles have been published in The Post Abortion Review; a publication of the Elliot Institute, Celebrate Life, an American Life League publication and various news media. Theresa has also been interviewed for Faith and Family magazine, the National Catholic Register, Catholic New York and The Knights of Columbus Columbia magazine to name a few.

In 2000, the testimony of her personal abortion was included in the annual Respect Life Month Packet of the Conference of Catholic Bishops, and she is also a keynote in a segment of the Grassroots Renewal Project of The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal sharing her personal story of abortion and her healing journey. She is active in Operation Outcry/Silent No More, and the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, a group of women throughout the country speaking out about their abortions in hopes of getting others to come forward for healing. To date, Silent No More has done three events in NYC and plans a fourth for March of 2007.

Theresa is in her eleventh year of working with The Sisters of Life. The manual of their co-authored healing ministry, “Entering Canaan, a Sacramental Journey to an Inheritance of Mercy”” was published for distribution by the United Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2004. Two years ago, Theresa and The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, along with Rev George Stewart, began “Days of Prayer & Healing” for men suffering from a past abortion.
