Biography

Theresa has been involved in post abortion work in many different capacities. For the past seven years she has led Lumina, a post abortion ministry under the arm of Good Counsel Homes Inc., begun by Chris Bell and Fr Benedict Groeschel, CFR. In addition, Theresa, along with Father Mariusz Koch, CFR, conducts training seminars for clergy and mental health professionals.

For the past fifteen years she has worked with the Sisters of Life in their co-authored healing ministry, “Entering Canaan, a Sacramental Journey to an Inheritance of Mercy”. The manual of “Entering Canaan” was published for distribution by the United Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2004.

Theresa has done many public speaking engagements throughout the country and internationally. Her articles have been published in The Post Abortion Review; a publication of the Elliot Institute, and she has been interviewed for Faith and Family magazine, CNY, National Catholic Register and other publications. In 2000, Theresa’s testimony was included in the annual Respect Life Month Packet of for the National Conference of Catholic Bishops.

In January 2005 Theresa, along with Fathers Mariusz Koch and George Stewart, began retreats for post abortive men, and two years ago , days for those suffering from a past abortion due to poor pre natal diagnosis were begun.This coming March 6, 2010, they will have a day for siblings of aborted babies.

Theresa is also active in the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, and in Operation Outcry, both groups of women and men throughout the country speaking out about their abortions in hopes of getting others to come forward for healing,

A prayer service she co-authored with the Sisters of Life , An Afternoon of Prayerful Remembrance, was held last January in the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC the day before the March for Life.

In June 2002, Theresa was the recipient of the 2nd Annual John Cardinal O’Connor Award for her work with those who are post abortive.
