Last night I had the great pleasure of going to a concert to hear Professor Pierluigi Sampietro.
Who is he you may ask? Well, ask Pope Benedict XIV and he can tell you!
In December of 2007, the Professor was asked by the Vatican to come and play a private concert for the Pope. Speaking of the experience brings tears to the Professors eyes, but that is not surprising, he is a man of great passion, and his music sweeps you away.
Professor Sampietro is acclaimed in the "Who's Who in Music" and has played all over the world. A classical concert pianist, he graduated from The Mozarteum's Conservatory of Music in Salzburg. This wonderful concert was an experience I honesty cannot find the right words for, except to say, you don't listen, you "enter in to it".
"When I play", the Professor says, "I go to paradise. There, as a Catholic/Christian, I embrace my Savior". There is no doubt that those who hear him go along for the ride.
In September of 2008, we have the great privilege of having the Professor give a concert to benefit Good Counsel, Inc., http://www.goodcounselhomes.org/ in Harrison, NY at Purchase College. More details to follow, but I can assure you, it will be an experience you will not soon forget!
