Trying to do some organizing around the office this week. I came across an article from a blog I used in one of my priests trainings in 2004! I tried to find it on the blog, http://triciagoyer.blogspot.com/search?q=post+abortion but because it is so old I was unable to find it.
In any case, I thought it was worth sharing part of it as Tricia speaks of her post abortion healing.
"Then I attended a bible study for post abortive women. (Forgiven and Set Free by Linda Cochrane). I spent those weeks understanding Christ's forgiveness and forgiving myself. How foolish of me to believe that my sin could be too great for Jesus to forgive. It was like saying His sacrifice wasn't good enough...
This leads me to 1 John:8-10 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
My forgiveness too place the moment I confessed. But for my healing to take place, it did not come form me begging God for forgiveness (Because I did that over and over again). But from confessing my sins to others ands seeing that they still loved me. It was like Jesus with flesh on, and I needed that."
