"Later on in life, she did decide to become a mother. Throughout having a child, she tells of “dreams permeated by thoughts of my aborted would-be child.” However, she states that her “What if’s” about her unborn baby are short-lived and superficial."
So goes a post on "A Positive, Personal testimony of having an Abortion" found here:

Sounds to me like if she is dreaming of her aborted "would-be" child, there is not as much peace as she would like us to believe.
I sometimes wonder why it is so important for women to think abortion does not bother some people at all...I would never want to be a person who could kill their own baby with ease...it just is not natural no matter what the circumstances. Of course, admitting it bothers you would mean it actually may not be good for women, and the price of that is just too high to those who want to keep abortion legal no matter what. After all, that is the lie the whole thing was based upon, a "good" for women.
In the end, the story of Maria's abortion sounds like a "me" story, which in the end is what all of our abortions were about...perceived self perservation for some reason or another. We were not ready, or someone forced us or threatened to leave..the list is endless, as if any of that can justify taking a life.
We are told:
"Look at that, a women who knows herself and knows what decision she needs to make, despite our society not being trustful of the capabilities that women have in decision-making when it comes to their bodies and their lives. "
Perhaps the blogger at Being Feminist needs to do some research to find out what science has now taught us, the baby has its own body and life.
As for Maria, the woman who had the abortion, chances are the dreams will continue. No matter how "short lived" or "superficial" she claims them to be, there is obviously some part of her struggling with her decision, and that is a good thing since she is the mom, and no mom shoul dbe at peace with killing her own child.
