Entering in to the Year of Mercy
Life can be so surreal. Sometimes, I feel as though the entire world has gone crazy. The self-centeredness of our society makes me wonder how we have gotten to this place, but in reality I know the reason. We have left God behind, but thankfully He is always there.
While people are being murdered and terrorists are attacking, “politically correct” groups are bemoaning hurt feelings, babies continue to be slaughtered in the womb, and millions of souls are separated from God. It can be hard to keep trusting to keep our focus on Jesus Christ.
We must always remember - He is right there with us calling us in to His Mercy. We may not feel it and it may seem like He is a million miles away, but He is right beside us, loving us, embracing us. We need only to acknowledge His presence in spite of what we feel.
This coming Year of Mercy, a gift unto itself, may we each, in spite of whatever life in this world is bringing us, trust in His unfathomable mercy, cling to His heart, and light the way for those in darkness, thanking God for the gift of our faith and the promise of eternal life.
