Judge Not-Lest You be Judged

I was reading about Margaret Cho, who I always found so offensive(she goes out of her way to shock, is vulgar, bragged about her open marriage (now divorced) and how she likes to have sex with everyone) was victim of sexual abuse and rape.

 

This not only explains why she is the way she is, but also is a warning for us not to judge anyone. Although she is trying to speak out about abuse one has to wonder if she has received help and if  it is in a healthy way. Her new song "I want to Kill My Rapist" makes you wonder, although we can certainly understand her feeling that way. I have NOT listened to the song but I do think she holds a lot of rage.

 

I pray Margaret finds a program like "Grief to Grace" in order to heal her deep wounds, bring her peace and to receive the dignity she deserves as a child of God. Praying for her.

 

“I had a very long-term relationship with this abuser, which is a horrible thing to say. I didn’t even understand it was abuse, because I was too young to know. I endured it so many times, especially because I was alone a lot," Cho said.

 

At 14 years old, she was raped by another acquaintance. “I was raped continuously through my teenage years, and I didn’t know how to stop it. It was also an era where young girls were being sexualized. For me, I think I had been sexually abused so much in my life that it was hard for me to let go of anger, forgive or understand what happened.”

 

May this coming "Year of Mercy" touch her heart to teach her true love.
