There were celebratory high fives in the Senate chamber yesterday as a bill to criminalize abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy failed to advance.
Citing the false concept of protecting “women’s health”, these abortions, which tear an unborn baby apart limb by limb, Senators like Sherrod Brown of Ohio, justified their vote. Trouble is more and more Americans are not buying it.
As usual, it is abortion any time, for any reason all nine months of pregnancy without any consideration of the now proven pain the unborn child will experience. How did we get to this extreme position? As Americans how long will be sit back and allow this to continue at the expense of innocent life?
The legalization of abortion was sold to us in a lie with the passage of the Supreme Court decision of Roe vs Wade exploiting Norma McCovey by saying she was a victim of rape. She wasn’t. We were told we need to expand abortion to make it “safe and rare”, yet women continue to be physically and emotionally harmed by abortion all the time and continue die, just read some testimonies at Silent No More.
There is never any legislation introduced by the Democrats who claim to be so concerned with “women’s health”, to protect those who are coerced by husbands, boyfriends and parents. There is never legislation to ensure the safety of clinics which continue to escape regulations that any other clinic must abide by.
There is no legislation for full disclosure of the risks of abortion to women, yet sadly they have the energy to attempt to close crisis pregnancy centers by requiring them to post information about abortion conflicting with their very mission. What of the welfare of their clients who chose life?
Personally, I am very sick of the false narrative of” women’s health” used to manipulate the public so that abortion and organizations such as Planned Parenthood who fund the pockets of many politicians can continued to reap huge profits and kill millions of unborn babies.
At least have the courage to speak the truth. They want to be able to kill any unborn child, for now, up until birth, for any reason. I often wonder how long it will be before it extends to one-year old’s? Two-year old’s?
As someone who was coerced into an abortion as a teenager and suffered its consequences for decades, I take these lies very personally. I experienced a second trimester abortion in a hospital while being in a room on the maternity floor. I had no idea what was going on as I gave birth to a dead baby boy. I was 16 weeks pregnant. He was fully formed. No one can tell me that my son did not feel pain, but most media will not even give us a voice.
When I saw him I remember thinking, “How is it possible that this is legal? That in the room next door they are celebrating life while killing a baby in my room?” I thought for sure people did not know what was happening, if they did I reasoned, they would surely put an end to this. How wrong I was.
That was over 40 years ago and sadly I have come to learn that people do know, they just do not seem to care. Political careers and personal gain are more important to some than the reality of what is taking place every day in our country.
What about women like me Senator Brown?
Those responsible for the success of prohibiting this bill from getting to the Senate floor may be high fiving today. The ones up for reelection can celebrate, thinking they could cover their views by not having to vote, but sooner or later they will have to come face to face with the fact that they did nothing to stop the dismemberment of countless innocent unborn children in the womb. When they do, and they have to really look at what they allowed, I do not think anything they acquired will have been worth the horror of that reality.
Take it from someone who has seen it.
