As most people know, Our Lady of Czestochowa is the patroness of the Entering Canaan Ministry. I cannot even begin to say how she has led this ministry and the many graces and healings she has acquired over the past twenty something years. As with the woman below, she was waiting for me as well, as she revealed her desire to be the patroness of the ministry many years ago. She was also instrumental in bringing my dad back to the sacraments before he passed away. I have been blessed to see her work in many lives.
I received the following note from one of the participants of one of our sibling weekends when she arrived back home. I have no doubt she will guide this, and all of our retreatants to the healing mercy of her Son.
Our Lady of Czestochowa, pray for us!
I have to share with you the first of one of many yet to come gifts from the retreat. It begins last week before the retreat. I had been at the school cleaning out a closet. In the closet buried with some other things that had survived the two moves we have made in the past three years way an 8 x 10” matted print of Our Lady of Czestochowa. Now honestly, this image has never been my favorite, but it had been in the closet for a while and the school didn’t need it. So I brought her home, thinking I needed to find a place for her somewhere (rather than the alternative to throw out the print, which I wouldn’t have done, but not finding her attractive enough to hang up was why she was in the closet for 6 years – aak!) So, I brought home Our Lady of Czestochowa and stuck her on the floor leaning against the wall in my front hallway and kind of forgot about her.
Even at the retreat I didn’t connect the dots. So when I got home last night, there she was, already waiting for me! On the way on the train I read your pamphlet about her – that and what you shared about her scars had led me to already begin to change my mind about the image. Then I saw that literally she was already here for me - in my home already!! I could not believe her goodness to me! Now I am going to get the print framed and find a prominent place so I can “behold” her every day! - L
