I love that "Abortion Recovery Month" is in April when we celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy.
The devotion of Divine Mercy was very instrumental in my own healing from abortion which came as I crouched on the floor of my bathroom for hours saying, "Jesus, I trust in You", until I experienced His mercy taking on my misery and I knew His healing presence.
Of course, the journey did not end there. Life is a continuous journey of healing and being brought deeper into His love. There are many layers of healing from a traumatice experience like abortion, but the difference is the journey is now not alone but with Them, as Our Lady continues to lead me to her Son revealing more and more the depths of His love.
Throughout this beautiful month of mercy I hope to post things to aide in healing. I will be starting out with siblings since out sibling retreat is actually on Divine Mercy weekend.
We will look at His great love for us and how He touches souls to set them free.
It is fitting that we end April embarking on our pilgrimage to Poland where we will visit our patroness, Our Lady of Czestochowa, a eucharistic miracle, Blessed Jerzy and of course The Shrine of Divine Mercy where St Faustina lived.
As we immerse ourselves in Holy week may we pray to experience the depths of His love and Mercy poured out for us at the cross, the place of ultimate love which redeemed us from even our sin of abortion!
